Intimacy with God begins with the revelation of His love for us. God has placed in our hearts the desire and ability to know Him and the depths of His love. He yearns that we would be able to understand and embrace His commitment and unfailing love for us which then produces a hunger in us to give ourselves wholly back to Him in an ongoing, intimate way. When we receive Jesus as our Savior, our spirits are awakened with a desire which can only be satisfied as we grow in a lifestyle of devotion and pursuit. John 17:3 tells us, "and this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent." Eternal life is the ongoing pursuit to know Jesus, the lover of our souls, in a deep and intimate way.
